| What is a DVI-D cable & how do I connect it? |
| What is DVI-D?: | | DVI-D cables are used as a medium to transfer a digital video signal from a source to an output device (Ex: a receiver/dvd player to a television.) DVI-D cables carry a digital signal only. If your source device produces an analog signal or your output device only accepts an analog signal, this cable will not work with your setup (Ex: a VGA monitor.) Consult your product manual(s) for more information on your device connectors. |
How Do I Connect my DVI-D Cable? | | | Step 1: | Attach one end of the cable to your DVI compatible digital source like a satellite receiver or DVD player. | | Step 2: | Attach the other end of the cable to your DVI compatible output device. |

| What are the different types of DVI Cables? | DVI - A: Carries DVI signal to an analog device. Supports analog signal only. DVI - D: Carries DVI signal to a digital device. Supports digital signal only. DVI - I: Carries DVI signal to an analog or digital device (analog to analog or digital to digital.) |
What is the difference between single-link and dual-link? | | Information sent over a digital DVI cable is sent using a format called Transition Minimized Differential Signaling (TMDS.) The only different between a single-link cable and a dual-link cable is the single-link cable has one TDMS transmitter, while the dual-link has two. Using a dual link cable when possible will increase the speed of the information transfer and produce an increased signal quality. |
