Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC™) is the long-awaited successor to the popular SD card format. With an increased demand for high-quality digital video, pictures and MP3s, a new card format was necessary to satisfy all of those needs.
Today's standard SD memory cards only offer capacities up to 2GB. EDGE SDHC cards break new ground by offering both 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB capacities! EDGE SDHC cards also carry a Class 6 speed rating (the fastest available), so you can shoot pictures and transfer files faster than ever.
With new cameras exceeding 10 megapixels, the pictures and videos they are capable of taking can yield massive file sizes. Don't get stuck with a full memory card on your next vacation or other memorable outing - be prepared with an SDHC Memory Card from EDGE!
What is SDHC?
SDHC or Secure Digital High-Capacity is the next generation of SD Cards. New specifications allow SDHC cards to achieve capacities of 4GB all the way up to 32GB. SD cards only offer up to 2GB. In addition to higher capacities, SDHC cards also offer a substantial performance advantage over SD cards which is defined by a new speed class ratings system.
What is the difference between SD and SDHC?
Both SD and SDHC cards share the same physical attributes. SD cards are compatible with both SD and SDHC enhanced devices. SDHC cards, however, are compatible only with SDHC enhanced devices. The following diagram demonstrates how SD and SDHC cards relate to one another:

How do I know if an SDHC card will work in my device?
In order for your SDHC card to function, you must have it inserted into an SDHC compatible device. Ensure that your device has the SDHC logo on the packaging or in the product manual.
