Warranty Period (from date of original purchase by end-user)
a. Lifetime Warranty:
All DRAM-based memory upgrades;
All flash-based memory products, excepting Solid State Drives (see b., below);
DiskGO™ USB Flash Drives (all types not shown below), DiskGO™ 2.0 USB Flash Drive + Ink Pen, USB Readers not shown below, including USB 2.0 9-in-1 Card Reader with xD Slot, All-in-1 Reader and 3-Port USB 2.0 Hub + 9-in-1 Card Reader.
b. Three Year Warranty:
DiskGO™ Hard Drives (all types) purchased on or after 12-23 -08, and DiskGO™ Solid State Drives (replacement devices for traditional spinning platter-based hard drives).
c. One Year Warranty:
DiskGO™ Hard Drives (all types) purchased before 12-23-08; DiskGO™ USB Watch Drive, DiskGO™ MP3 Player Plus USB Flash Drive, DiskGO™ Digital Music Player Secure WMA/MP3, DiskGO™ FM Transmitter for iPod® and Other Players; EDGE™ Dock & Multi Flash Card Reader for iPod®; all styles of Digital Picture Frames.
This product is warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship and to function in accordance with manufacturer's specifications for the "Warranty Period" shown above. This warranty extends only to the original end purchaser (the first end user to purchase new, unused product from EDGE, a reseller who in turn has purchased the product directly from EDGE Tech Corp ("EDGE") or one of EDGE's authorized distributors). Please retain your original purchase receipt; we may require a copy as part of our warranty verification.
This warranty applies only to the original end-(final) user of the product; it is not transferrable to others.
No warranty or liability exists for loss of any data or for software, nor for damage to computer hardware, caused during or after installation of the product. The product is provided "as is" and is not warranted to operate without failure. Purchaser assumes entire responsibility for the supervision, control, managing and confidentiality of his or her data, including security data stored on encrypted drives.
No warranty or guarantee of any kind shall exist for repair, replacement or refund of any item damaged directly or indirectly as a result of installation or use of the product. Acceptance of this product constitutes purchaser's agreement that EDGE's sole obligation under this warranty shall be repair or replacement of the product or refund of the full original purchase price, at EDGE's option. Under no circumstances whatsoever will more than the full original purchase price of the product be deemed payable, regardless of the circumstances causing the claim, and Purchaser shall hold EDGE harmless from claims in excess of the full original purchase price.
No warranty exists for damage or destruction of a willful nature, caused deliberately by any person or arising from use of the product for anything other than its intended use by the manufacturer and/or distributor. No warranty exists for repairs of any damages caused by natural disasters, terrorism or acts of God, including electrical surges or static electricity emissions. No warranty exists for damages resulting from modifications made to the product by any unauthorized person.
Product Returns: You must obtain an RMA number before returning product to EDGE, and that number must be clearly marked on the outside of your package or it will be refused for security reasons. Use a shipping method requiring our signature, for your protection, and pack the product securely. Do NOT use a standard envelope, as postal mailing machines will frequently damage the module or cause it to rip out of the envelope.
Calculation of Storage Device Capacity: Major manufacturers (including EDGE) who produce storage media commonly define one megabyte as one million bytes. This definition causes a discrepancy when calculating large storage capacities because there are 1,024 bytes per kilobyte, 1,024 kilobytes per megabyte in the mathematical calculation. There is also a small percentage of space occupied by system files, further reducing the capacity for data storage. Final capacity is also affected by formatting (it will change slightly based on cluster size). As a result the device capacity that may be utilized by the end user to store data will be less than the amount advertised.
